Software Engineer II

About the role

As a member of the NDS team at HERE Technologies, you will help capture real‑world data, transform it into a reality index, and deliver digital maps in NDS formats directly to automotive customers for autonomous‑driving use cases. You will work in an Agile environment alongside multiple internal and external teams.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: design, coding, testing, release, and support.
• Own one or more components of the software architecture and contribute to map‑processing and validation workflows.
• Analyze and debug pipeline issues using logs and visualization tools.
• Support documentation, testing, internal demos, and code reviews.
• Promote engineering best practices such as Agile, clean coding, and verification.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of software development experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Fast learner who can work with minimal direction and takes initiative.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, able to understand complex scenarios quickly.
• Quality‑focused mindset with experience writing testable, reusable code.

Required skills

• Java and Scala programming.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Big Data tools such as Spark and EMR.
• SQL and experience with relational databases.
• Version control with Git, REST APIs, and basic Linux command‑line usage.
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
