Software Engineer – Big Data & Palantir Development

About the role

As a Big Data Engineer you will work on Airbus Skywise, a Spark‑based platform, understanding business processes and the technical architecture. You will help define best practices and Golden Rules while collaborating with an international, distributed team using agile methodologies.

Key responsibilities

• Understand business processes and technical architecture of Airbus application portfolio.
• Design and develop high‑quality, scalable, and reliable solutions.
• Perform deep‑technology root‑cause analysis and drive performance improvements.
• Define and suggest best practices and Golden Rules.
• Engage customers on requirements and delivery with excellent communication.
• Apply strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Provide customer‑facing support, especially for European clients.

Required profile

• Graduate with 4+ years of experience, including 2+ years in Palantir‑based development.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in support or customer service.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Spark using Java.
• Experience with at least one Palantir dashboard component (Slate, Workshop, Object Explorer).
• Development experience in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Strong background in Python, PySpark and server‑side processing.
• Good grasp of Pandas, Foundry or Polars (plus).
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience working in agile teams (Scrum, Kanban, XP).
• Proven problem‑solving, analytical and code‑optimization abilities.
