Software Development Engineer I – Cloud & Microservices

About the role

CSG is looking for a Software Development Engineer I to design, build, and maintain cloud‑native microservices and web applications. You will work in a remote‑first environment, collaborating with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain microservices and web applications with a focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Design cloud‑native services on AWS and implement CI/CD pipelines following DevOps best practices.
• Apply Test‑Driven Development (TDD) to ensure strong unit and integration test coverage.
• Participate in Spec‑Driven Development (SDD) by collaborating on clear specifications, acceptance criteria, and testable requirements.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools while retaining full accountability for design decisions and code quality.
• Write clean, readable code, conduct code reviews, and contribute to shared engineering standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Intermediate to fluent English proficiency in a business environment.
• Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating across engineering, product, and QA.
