Sewer Maintenance Worker II

About the role

The City of Cambridge is seeking a Sewer Maintenance Worker II to inspect, repair, and maintain the city’s sewer infrastructure, including storm drains, force mains, lift stations, and manholes. This hands‑on position involves heavy physical labor and work in outdoor environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pipe repairs and installations across the sewer network.
• Clean and flush mains, isolate breaks, and ensure system integrity.
• Operate construction equipment such as jackhammers and hydraulic tools.
• Landscape work sites and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Lift and move loads of 50–75 lb regularly while adhering to safety protocols.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least four years of sewer maintenance or related experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Required skills
