Senior Transport Modeller – Strategic Modelling

About the role

We are expanding our Transport Modelling team at SYSTRA India and are looking for a senior professional to lead strategic transport modelling projects for global clients, including the UK, Middle East and Australia. The role is based in Bangalore with the possibility of hybrid or remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, calibrate and validate large‑scale transport models for urban and regional planning.
• Analyse model outputs and produce technical reports for stakeholders.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging modelling techniques and software tools.
• Mentor junior team members and support knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5‑10 years of experience in transport modelling and infrastructure planning.
• Familiarity with UK transport modelling guidance (TAG) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with transport modelling packages such as SATURN, CUBE, VISUM or EMME.
• Experience with economic appraisal tools (TUBA, COBALT, QUADRO).
• Strong data‑analysis abilities using spreadsheets, databases and programming languages (Python, R, VBA).
• Competence in GIS and spatial data visualisation.
