Senior Transport Executive

About the role

The Senior Transport Executive will lead daily transportation operations, ensuring the efficient and cost‑effective movement of goods and personnel. This position requires strong coordination, regulatory compliance, and the ability to optimise routes and resources.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule inbound and outbound transportation activities.
• Optimise routes and vehicle utilisation to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
• Monitor fleet performance, safety, and maintenance compliance.
• Manage vendor relationships, including leasing, repairs, and insurance.
• Liaise with transport vendors, negotiate contracts, and supervise driver performance.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, permits, and statutory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, and expenses.
• Track transportation costs, prepare reports, and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Implement safety protocols and handle emergency transport situations.

Required profile

• Graduate in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field (MBA preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in transport/logistics operations, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of local and national transport regulations.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage vendor relationships.

Required skills

• Familiarity with GPS tracking systems.
• Experience with transport management software.
