Senior Technical Consultant, India Safe Water

About the role

Evidence Action's technical partner in India, EAII Advisors, is hiring a Senior Technical Consultant for its India Safe Water programme. The consultant will study the MVS (micro-irrigation water supply) landscape and the electrochlorinator (EC) market, producing analysis that helps Evidence Action decide where and how to invest in rural water treatment. • Analyse existing water treatment solutions and build a comparison model covering cost, consumables, maintenance and track record
• Deeply analyse the EC market: available models, suppliers, deployments, performance, costs and operational requirements
• Identify the technical, operational and economic conditions under which ECs are viable, and recommend strategic intervention pathways and scale-up options

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in strategy, market shaping and/or management consulting
• Experience assessing water-treatment technologies, including costs, maintenance and operating requirements; chlorination/EC experience preferred
• Credibility with government, WASH institutions, implementers and sector experts in India
• No existing commercial relationship with the EC vendors being evaluated
• Ability to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences such as donors, boards and senior leadership
