Senior Tax Consultant

About the role

SC&H Tax Services Practice is looking for an experienced Senior Tax Consultant to join its Gurugram office. The role combines compliance, consulting and research for both for‑profit and nonprofit clients, with roughly half of the work focused on nonprofit tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions for financial reporting under ASC 740.
• Oversee consolidation and filing of federal, state and local income tax returns and related business filings.
• Develop and implement strategic tax planning for required federal and state taxes.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate impacts, and devise strategies to leverage changes.
• Review quarterly and yearly tax projections.
• Mentor and develop members of the tax team to improve effectiveness and engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business field.
• 4+ years of tax experience, preferably in a Big 4, national or large regional firm.
• Experience preparing a variety of returns, including substantial work with the Form 990 series.
• CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA designation; a Master’s in Tax is a plus.

• Proficiency with ASC 740 tax provision methodology.
• In‑depth knowledge of Form 990 series and nonprofit tax compliance concepts.
• Strong tax planning, research and written communication abilities.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and manage complex tax projects.
