Senior Tax Consultant

About the role

SC&H’s Tax Services Practice in Gurugram is looking for a Senior Tax Consultant to join its growing team. The role combines tax compliance, planning and research for both for‑profit and nonprofit clients, with roughly half of the work focused on nonprofit organizations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions for financial reporting under ASC 740.
• Oversee consolidation and filing of federal, state and local income tax returns and related business filings.
• Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all required federal and state taxes.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate impacts, and devise strategies to leverage changes.
• Review quarterly and yearly tax projections.
• Mentor and manage members of the tax team to enhance effectiveness and engagement.
• Conduct tax planning, compliance and research projects for SC&H’s diverse client base.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience, preferably at a Big 4, national or large regional firm.
• Extensive experience preparing various tax returns, especially the Form 990 series.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit tax compliance concepts such as unrelated business income tax, executive compensation, and public charity reporting requirements.
• Excellent research, writing and interpersonal communication skills.
• CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA designation (required); Master’s in Tax is a plus.
