Senior Tax Analyst – India Direct Tax Reporting and Compliance

About the role

Amazon is looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to lead India income tax reporting and compliance. The role focuses on preparing and reviewing direct tax returns, tax accounting, and supporting the US GAAP worldwide income tax provision for India‑based entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review quarterly advance tax computations and ensure timely tax payments.
• Prepare and review annual tax computations for IN GAAP statutory filings.
• Prepare and review monthly/quarterly tax computations to support US GAAP provision for India entities and Amazon’s global provision.
• Support statutory audits, tax audits, and filings such as Form 3CEB.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams on tax matters and act as the single point of contact for global processes.
• Monitor changes in Indian tax legislation, assess impact, and drive automation projects.
• Assist with tax assessments, litigation, and management of tax notices.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Indian direct tax laws, especially withholding tax (WHT) regulations.
• Experience reviewing tax returns, handling tax notices, and supporting litigation.
• Ability to work on novel tax issues related to e‑commerce and data‑center operations.
• Proactive attitude toward legislative changes and process improvement.
