Senior Staff/Principal Engineer

About the role

Provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and deploying automated solutions that reduce variability, streamline workflows, and boost operational performance across multiple projects. The role involves mentoring engineers and collaborating with senior leadership to drive strategic process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Staff Engineers, Senior Engineers, Engineers, Co‑ops, Technicians, and Operators.
• Research advanced manufacturing technologies, develop new automation methods, and digitally monitor performance for quality and efficiency.
• Support capital equipment acquisition from requirements definition through validation.
• Champion automation excellence, benchmark technologies across the Stryker network, and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead process validations (VP, IQ, OQ, PQ), author documentation, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct gauge R&R studies, capability analyses, and process characterizations for new and existing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, Automation or related).
• 12‑15 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in industrial automation, process development, or advanced manufacturing.
• Strong ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems with DFM knowledge.
• Experience with process validation, statistical tools (PFMEA, SPC) and Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC methodologies.
