Senior Solution Architect

About the role

As a Senior Solution Architect at Couchbase, you will act as a trusted advisor, helping customers unlock the full value of Couchbase’s operational data platform. You will blend high‑level architectural coaching with hands‑on professional service delivery for complex, real‑world data challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Lead short‑ to medium‑term on‑site and remote client engagements, including architecture reviews, sizing, performance tuning and deployment planning.
• Solve deep technical problems from design through production, providing hands‑on troubleshooting and escalation when needed.
• Help customers implement AI solutions using Couchbase features such as indexing, SQL++, Full‑Text Search, Vector Search and Columnar technologies.
• Own the full lifecycle of implementations, from installation to operational best practices.
• Act as the technical product expert, presenting complex concepts to developers, architects and C‑level stakeholders.
• Contribute to internal technical projects, including software development, benchmarking and troubleshooting.
• Partner with sales and pre‑sales teams to handle technical escalations and identify growth opportunities.
• Author technical collateral such as reference architectures, whitepapers and best‑practice guides.

Required profile

• 5+ years in enterprise back‑end software consulting with strong focus on database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Distributed Databases).
• 2+ years working with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) including cloud troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Solid foundation in application design and development, familiar with traditional RDBMS schema modeling.
• Experience with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude) and modern data platform practices.
• Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for end‑to‑end technical issues.
• Excellent presentation and communication abilities for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent technical field.
• Fluency in English.
