Senior Software Technologist I – Automation Framework

About the role

As a Senior Software Technologist I you will lead the development of automation frameworks that support Philips’ global product development teams. You will provide technical guidance, mentor engineers and drive engineering excellence across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and evolve scalable automation frameworks, reusable libraries and enterprise‑grade solutions using C#.NET, Python and C++.
• Architect and integrate frameworks with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Git and CI/CD pipelines to deliver reliable, maintainable platforms.
• Establish Behaviour‑Driven Development practices by creating reusable Gherkin scenarios and automation components.
• Implement logging, analytics, performance monitoring and observability features to improve productivity and reliability.
• Lead Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop integration, simulators and test infrastructure across multiple product platforms.
• Conduct architecture, design and code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Drive complex technical investigations, debugging, root‑cause analysis and performance optimisation.
• Evaluate and adopt AI‑assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code for intelligent test generation and defect prediction.
• Collaborate with Software, Verification, Firmware, Systems Engineering, DevOps and Quality teams to define automation strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience in software development, software architecture or automation framework development.
• Strong background in object‑oriented design, CI/CD, DevOps, Agile methodologies and technical leadership.
• Experience in MedTech, Automotive, Semiconductor or Industrial Automation domains is a plus.
