Senior Software Engineer – Spring Boot & Cloud Native

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Account Management Services program. The role focuses on building high‑performance, scalable applications that support global payments and issuer services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement features using Spring Boot, Cloud‑Native technologies and Event‑Driven Architecture.
• Perform requirement analysis, prioritization and effort estimation to deliver customer value.
• Apply best development practices, write maintainable, testable and secure code.
• Lead incident response, conduct post‑mortems and implement preventive actions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and platform teams to resolve dependencies and meet project commitments.
• Implement Gitflow branching, conduct peer reviews and use Sonar and Checkmarx for code quality.
• Develop unit, service and integration tests using JUnit and build tools such as Maven, Ant or Gradle.
• Implement various application patterns including APIs, batch services, web applications and big‑data processing.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and are successfully deployed to test and production environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in building large‑scale, mission‑critical software systems.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
• Ability to lead technical incidents and drive continuous improvement.
