Senior Software Engineer – Money Team

About the role

Databricks is building the world’s best data and AI platform, and the Money team focuses on maximizing customer value from data investments. As one of the first engineers for Money in India, you will help create core governance and usage‑control services that power all Databricks products.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve systems that govern usage, billing, and cost‑optimization across Databricks offerings.
• Improve engineering efficiency, reliability, and response times through CI/CD, testing frameworks, data quality checks, reconciliation, and anomaly detection.
• Partner with platform and product teams to design infrastructure that scales with evolving customer needs.
• Contribute to long‑term product vision and requirements in collaboration with engineering stakeholders.

Required profile

• BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of production‑level experience with Java, Scala, C++ or similar languages.
• Proven ability to architect, develop, deploy, and operate large‑scale distributed systems.
• Experience handling sensitive data and implementing software security controls.
• Demonstrated leadership across functional and organizational boundaries.
