Senior Software Engineer – Java (Officer)

About the role

Join the Charles River Development team within State Street to design, develop, and deliver enterprise‑grade investment management platforms. You will work on large‑scale, cloud‑native services that support portfolio management, trading, compliance and wealth management.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement complex Java‑based microservices and platform solutions, driving technical excellence from architecture to production.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create sustainable software for high‑impact financial problems.
• Write unit and automation tests, conduct code reviews, and contribute to API and design documentation.
• Provide expert troubleshooting for mission‑critical client implementations and support agile scrum activities.

Required profile

• B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (MS preferred) with at least 9 years of progressive software engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services developing solutions for portfolio management, trading, compliance or wealth management.
• Proven experience with Spring Boot microservices, cloud environments (Azure a plus), Kubernetes, Kafka and relational databases.
