Senior Software Engineer – Data Platform (Tech Lead)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the data ingestion and integration architecture of Continental’s enterprise data platform. The role combines technical leadership with hands‑on development, ensuring scalable, reliable data flows across the ContiTech business.

Key responsibilities

• Own and govern the data ingestion and integration architecture for the enterprise data platform.
• Define and evolve reusable, production‑grade data interfaces for batch, streaming, API‑based and event‑driven sources.
• Provide technical leadership, design authority and act as escalation point for complex ingestion challenges.
• Establish engineering standards (CI/CD, testing, observability) and enforce them across the data platform team.
• Collaborate with architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure and business IT to ensure secure and compliant designs.

Required profile

• 6–10 years of software engineering experience with large‑scale, enterprise‑grade data platforms.
• Proven technical leadership and architectural ownership in distributed systems.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience mentoring engineers and working with global, cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Scala, Java and Python programming.
• Microsoft Azure (or other hyperscaler) environments.
• CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), automated testing and observability practices.
• Data integration patterns: APIs, CDC, streaming, event‑driven architectures.
• Lakehouse and data‑warehousing concepts; Databricks experience is a plus.
