Senior Recruiter – India (Bangalore)

About the role

Handshake is building its AI‑focused India office from the ground up and needs a Senior Recruiter to lead talent acquisition for business, operations and technical teams. Based in Bangalore, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to define hiring strategies, shape processes and deliver a world‑class candidate experience.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with hiring managers and senior leaders to understand hiring needs, define role scope and set priorities.
• Own the full recruiting lifecycle—from intake and sourcing to interviews, offers and closure—for a diverse set of roles.
• Manage candidate scheduling, interview operations and logistics for evening and overnight interview windows (core hours 4 pm–4 am).
• Build and maintain strong pipelines for hard‑to‑fill business, operations and technical positions across India and other regions.
• Proactively engage passive talent, nurture long‑term relationships, and provide market insights on compensation and competition.
• Contribute to the development of recruiting processes, norms and ways of working as the office scales.
• Ensure a consistent, high‑quality candidate experience that reflects Handshake’s values.

Required profile

• 5+ years of full‑cycle recruiting experience, preferably supporting business, operations or technical roles.
• Background in a startup or fast‑scaling environment.
• Comfort with high‑volume hiring and night‑shift interview schedules.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in Bangalore five days a week, with core hours 11 am–8 pm.
