Senior R&D Software Engineer – Lead Architecture

About the role

The Lead Software Engineer for R&D Technology will design and deliver solutions that enable next‑generation capabilities across small molecules, peptides and oligonucleotides, bridging scientific needs with scalable technology.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the engineering architecture vision, roadmap and standards for the Synthetics Development domain.
• Lead technical architecture across squads, ensuring alignment with enterprise patterns, reusable components and modern engineering practices.
• Own CI/CD pipeline architecture, automation strategy and observability standards.
• Mentor engineering talent, establish engineering standards and lead technical hiring.
• Manage lifecycle, compliance and governance of domain technologies, including API catalog and responsible AI usage.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading technical initiatives from concept to production.
• Strong foundational IT skills in database design, data engineering, cloud computing and architecture principles.
• Experience designing systems handling regulated/validated data and understanding GxP requirements.
• Proven ability to translate complex scientific and business needs into practical technical solutions.
