Senior R&D Engineer – Product Test Automation

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a senior R&D engineer to lead product test automation for its ERM portfolio. You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with product owners, architects, developers and the Scrum team to ensure high‑quality, reliable solutions for both on‑premise and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product owners, architects and developers to define and test solution requirements.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives and reviews.
• Design and implement a custom automated integration‑testing framework spanning multiple interconnected applications.
• Develop and execute comprehensive API test suites to validate backend services and inter‑application communication.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) to support continuous testing.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on test failures and work with development teams to drive resolution.
• Continuously evaluate and improve test coverage, reliability and execution performance.
• Contribute to defining QA best practices, standards and processes within the team.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of experience with RESTful API design and testing.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for continuous learning.
• Deep expertise in API testing tools such as Postman or Playwright.
• Solid understanding of integration‑testing principles and cross‑application data flows.
• Proficiency in an automation‑capable language, preferably C#.
• Experience with CI/CD integration and version control (Git).
• Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) for test environment setup.
