Senior Performance Test Engineer

About the role

RIB, part of AVEVA, is seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer to define and own performance testing strategies for its software products. The role focuses on validating critical business transactions, establishing performance baselines, and ensuring the solutions meet SLA-driven goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the performance testing strategy for the product portfolio.
• Identify critical user journeys and design load, stress, endurance, spike, and scalability tests.
• Build reusable, maintainable test scripts for web applications, APIs, and asynchronous systems.
• Correlate test results with application, infrastructure, and database metrics to pinpoint latency, throughput, memory, and CPU issues.
• Produce performance analysis reports with actionable optimization recommendations.
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines and support shift‑left/shift‑right testing.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and DevOps teams on capacity planning, code tuning, and environment sizing.
• Mentor junior testers and act as the performance quality gate before releases.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on performance testing experience.
• Strong understanding of system architecture and scalability patterns.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.

Required skills

• JMeter, LoadRunner, k6 (at least one tool mastered).
• Performance testing techniques: load, stress, endurance, spike, scalability.
• Testing of web applications, APIs, and asynchronous systems.
• CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Agile and DevOps practices.
