Senior Network & System Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Network & System Engineer to own day‑to‑day operations of an on‑premise data centre supporting over 100 active users, a large IP‑camera fleet, warehouse/distribution activities and a 24×7 call‑centre. The role focuses on keeping the infrastructure healthy, secure, well‑documented and highly available.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and administer Cisco switches, 10 Gb fiber backbone, VLANs, trunking, STP, LACP and port security.
• Manage Cisco Wi‑Fi, PoE infrastructure and troubleshoot fiber, SFP and Cat6A links.
• Configure firewalls, VPN, NAT, routing, traffic policies and multi‑ISP failover.
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO and RDP/RDS environments.
• Support Proxmox (and VMware/Hyper‑V) virtualization, VMs and server hardware for ERP/WMS applications.
• Maintain TrueNAS/NAS, RAID, Ceph storage, backups, restore testing and disaster recovery.
• Oversee Dahua IP CCTV (~250 cameras) and APC UPS systems.
• Run Linux‑based email server (Roundcube) with SPF/DKIM and backups.
• Detect, troubleshoot and resolve incidents within defined SLAs, perform RCA and preventive maintenance.
• Document configurations, IP inventory, rack diagrams, SOPs, licences and vendor records.
• Coordinate with MSP/NOC/SOC, OEM, ISP and AMC vendors to ensure ticket and SLA closure.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in network and system engineering.
• Proactive ownership, calm under pressure and clear communication with non‑technical stakeholders.
• Availability for on‑call support during outages.
• Discretion with company data and access.

Required skills

• Cisco managed switches (VLAN, trunking, STP, LACP, port security).
• Firewalls/VPN solutions (Untangle, pfSense, Sophos, Fortinet or equivalent).
• Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, RDP/RDS.
• Virtualization platforms: Proxmox, VMware, Hyper‑V.
• Storage technologies: TrueNAS/NAS, RAID, Ceph.
• IP CCTV (Dahua) and UPS (APC) management.
• Linux email server administration (Roundcube, SPF/DKIM).
• Monitoring tools (Zabbix, PRTG, LibreNMS) and scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
