Senior Mechanical Engineer – Piping Stress Analysis

About the role

ASSYSTEM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specialized in piping stress and flexibility analysis for nuclear projects. The role involves executing assignments from the Pipe Stress Lead Engineer, ensuring quality compliance, and working with 3D models such as Navisworks.

Key responsibilities

• Execute work assigned by the Pipe Stress Lead Engineer and ensure QC for nuclear project compliance.
• Liaise with senior and support engineers to deliver accurate piping stress calculations.
• Perform dimensioning of pipes and supports, and carry out flexibility and support counter‑calculations.
• Update and analyse client‑driven modifications, producing detailed calculation notes.
• Collaborate with designers to implement changes in 3D models and adhere to ISO 9001 processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 8‑10 years of experience in piping stress and flexibility analysis, preferably in nuclear environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is desirable.
• Strong analytical and planning skills with at least 5 years of piping engineering calculations.

Required skills

• Piping stress analysis using ASME/EN codes.
• Experience with PMS, VMS, CAESAR, AUTOPIPE, PEPS.
• Proficiency in Navisworks and Smart Plant Review for 3D modeling.
• Competence with MS Office and ISO 9001 processes.
