Senior Manager, Legal Counsel (India)

About the role

NIQ India is looking for a senior‑level lawyer to join its India Legal team in Mumbai. The role is hybrid, requiring 2‑3 days onsite per week, and focuses on providing strategic legal advice to commercial and hub operations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise business leaders on legal and regulatory issues affecting data, employment, analytics and operations.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts such as license agreements, master services agreements, statements of work and data license agreements.
• Partner with HR on labour and employment matters, policy drafting and compliance, including POSH requirements.
• Collaborate with global functions (Finance, Tax, IT, Privacy, Security, IP, etc.) on cross‑functional legal matters.
• Identify legal gaps, propose process improvements and ensure consistency across commercial and hub activities.
• Support limited litigation matters and coordinate with external counsel.
• Monitor emerging laws and regulatory developments in India and assess impact on business.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with substantial experience in Indian corporate, employment and data privacy law.
• Strong risk‑mindset and ability to balance innovation with compliance.
• Proven ability to work closely with senior business stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
