Senior Linux Administrator – Computer Operations

About the role

Fiserv is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to manage and support its enterprise Linux server environment. You will ensure platform stability, security, and compliance across both on‑premises and cloud infrastructures.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers.
• Perform OS vulnerability remediation and patch management.
• Monitor performance, availability, and capacity; proactively resolve issues.
• Handle Linux incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
• Support server provisioning, decommissioning, and lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain automation using Bash, Ansible, and related tools.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, sudo access, and authentication integrations.
• Maintain storage, file systems, LVM, NFS, and SAN operations.
• Troubleshoot server, application, network, and performance problems.
• Participate in major incident response, root‑cause analysis, and problem management.
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Strong experience administering Linux (RHEL preferred) in enterprise environments.
• Proficiency with Linux patching, kernel updates, and OS upgrades.
• Solid knowledge of Bash scripting and Ansible automation.
• Understanding of system services, networking, and performance tuning.
• Experience with VMware virtualization.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and log analysis.
• Knowledge of security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
