Senior Java Engineer – Microservices (Bengaluru)

About the role

ANZ’s Technology team in Bengaluru is looking for a Senior Engineer to strengthen its micro‑services capabilities. You will work closely with Lead Engineers and product owners to design, build and evolve scalable Java‑based solutions that support the bank’s digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership while actively contributing to development, testing and business analysis tasks.
• Accelerate delivery by reducing technical debt, improving platform health and increasing feature release frequency.
• Design solutions and set architectural direction for micro‑services and APIs.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to translate requirements into elegant designs.
• Automate build, test and deployment pipelines and promote a learning culture within the team.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional experience in Java development.
• Proven track record of leading commercial software projects using micro‑services and APIs.
• Strong experience in enterprise‑level Java applications and solution design.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
