Senior Java Developer – Tech Lead (Bangalore)

About the role

As a Tech Lead, you will participate in the creation of new products and enhancements to existing products from concept to launch, working within a cross‑functional team at Applied Materials. You will provide software solutions that integrate with product systems and collaborate with global and customer teams.

Key responsibilities

• Execute design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles.
• Design and code complex software features with proper documentation.
• Write automation for new and existing features.
• Provide customer support and troubleshoot difficult software problems.
• Proactively communicate development status and any delays.
• Interface with global teams for requirements analysis and scheduling.
• Coordinate with external customers regarding software issues.
• Travel to onsite locations for short‑term assignments such as feature integrations and version installations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8 years of overall experience, with at least 4 years in software development and 2 years in core product development.
• Strong object‑oriented design and programming expertise.
• Professional experience with Core Java technologies, including design patterns, multi‑threading, data structures, and algorithms.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA.
• Knowledge of best practices and integration with other system areas.
