Senior IT Engineer

About the role

As a Senior IT Engineer at Ethos, you will lead the design and evolution of a cloud‑first IT environment, building scalable, secure systems that support the entire organization. You will partner with cross‑functional teams to implement modern IT solutions, strengthen security, and drive operational excellence through automation and AI‑powered agents.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage a fully cloud‑based IT environment ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across SaaS platforms.
• Build and operate workflow automation using tools such as Okta, Serval, and other iPaaS solutions.
• Develop and maintain AI‑powered agents and automations that streamline IT workflows and enable self‑service.
• Engineer integrations between core systems (Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, HR/finance platforms) using REST APIs, webhooks, and SCIM.
• Manage API integrations, authentication, security, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Partner with software engineering teams on shared services, developer tooling, and standards.
• Create joiner‑mover‑leaver and birthright access automation with audit logging for SOX‑ and PII‑scoped systems.
• Analyze ticketing data to identify repetitive tasks for automation and prioritize implementation.
• Apply a security‑first mindset, following least‑privilege principles and ensuring compliance.
• Develop documentation, runbooks, and integration standards to keep automations maintainable.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex IT issues, performing root‑cause analysis and delivering long‑term solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT engineering or systems administration within a cloud‑first environment.
• Proven experience designing and managing integrations across SaaS platforms using REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and SCIM.
• Hands‑on experience with low‑code/no‑code AI and automation tools (e.g., Okta Workflows, Serval, Workato, Zapier).
• Experience building or integrating AI agents and bots.
• Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause‑analysis skills with a security‑first mindset.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineering teams and understand version control, CI/CD, and shared services.
