Senior IT Audit Associate

About the role

Ciena is looking for a Senior IT Audit Associate to join its Internal Audit team. You will evaluate and improve risk management, operations, and governance processes across global locations while supporting the Audit Committee and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Execute complex IT and security Sarbanes‑Oxley and operational audit projects following IIA IPPF standards.
• Conduct IT risk assessments and develop detailed audit programs using COSO, NIST, COBIT, and ITIL frameworks.
• Test the design and operating effectiveness of IT general controls, manual and automated controls across global processes.
• Leverage AI, data analytics, and continuous monitoring tools to enhance audit testing techniques.
• Prepare concise audit reports, identify deficiencies, and recommend actionable improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to secure commitment for issue resolution and advise on new or revised processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of IT‑focused internal or external audit experience (Big 4 experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of IT operations, networks, applications, cybersecurity, and Active Directory.
• Experience with SOX ITGC, COSO, ISO 27001, COBIT, NIST, and ITIL.
• Familiarity with data analytics, automation, and AI for audit purposes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and ethical mindset.
