About the role
The Senior Inventory Management Executive will lead the end‑to‑end control of component and finished‑goods stock in a high‑mix, high‑value manufacturing environment. You will ensure inventory accuracy, drive continuous improvement of material handling processes, and support production schedules through reliable kitting and shortage management.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain perpetual inventory records in the ERP system with ≥99% accuracy for A‑class, high‑value items and ≥98% overall.
- Design and run weekly/monthly cycle‑count programmes for A, B and C‑class components and lead full physical stock takes.
- Investigate all variances, determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Own bin location mapping, part‑number standards, barcode/QR implementation and store layout optimisation.
- Enforce FIFO, LIFO and FEFO discipline across all material categories.
- Manage moisture‑sensitive (MSL) components, including dry‑cabinet storage, humidity indicator checks and bake‑process control per J‑STD‑033.
- Control shelf‑life materials (solder paste, flux, adhesives, etc.) with cold‑storage procedures, thaw logs and expiry alerts.
- Maintain segregation of reels, trays, tubes and sticks; manage partial‑reel reconciliation and splicing records.
- Ensure ESD‑safe handling and storage in line with IEC 61340‑5‑1 and ANSI‑ESD S20.20.
- Provide lot‑level traceability to meet customer and regulatory recall requirements.
- Drive on‑time, accurate kitting for SMT, through‑hole and box‑build schedules and conduct kit‑readiness reviews.
- Track daily shortages, expedite escalations and provide visibility to Planning and Purchasing.
- Reconcile WIP, shop‑floor issue/return, excess stock and quarantine items on job closure.
- Monitor BOM‑based consumption versus actual issue and report attrition, setup loss and scrap.
- Manage finished‑goods inventory, packing material stock and dispatch readiness.
- Administer customer free‑issue and consignment material, providing periodic reconciliation statements.
- Oversee supplier consignment stock, VMI arrangements and consumption reporting.
- Handle rejection returns, coordinate debit notes and track replacements with Purchase and Quality.
- Drive ERP data integrity, including item master hygiene, UOM discipline, reorder levels and safety stock parameters.
- Support ERP/WMS implementation, enhancements and barcode scanning rollout as the materials‑side process owner.
- Publish periodic MIS on inventory turns, days‑on‑hand, stock value, ageing trends, fill rate and shortage analysis.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and customer‑specific quality requirements.
- Conduct monthly FSN, ABC value and VED criticality analyses and maintain ageing buckets by part and programme.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing perpetual inventory records in an ERP environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards.
- Familiarity with J‑STD‑033 handling of moisture‑sensitive components.
- Ability to lead cycle‑count programmes and full physical stock takes.
- Experience enforcing FIFO/LIFO/FEFO and ESD safety standards.
