Senior Interior Design Engineer

About the role

Magna is seeking a Senior Interior Design Engineer to lead the design and validation of automotive interior systems. You will ensure structural performance, functionality, manufacturability and regulatory compliance while mentoring junior engineers and driving innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept development, detailed design and integration of interior components such as instrument panels, floor consoles, door trims and interior trims.
• Manage project milestones, on‑time delivery, first‑time‑right outcomes and design optimisation.
• Resolve technical issues, ensure high‑quality documentation and provide mentorship to the engineering team.

Required profile

• BE or DME in Mechanical, Production or Automobile engineering.
• 7‑10 years of experience for BE graduates or 8‑11 years for DME graduates.
• Strong understanding of vehicle manufacturing, assembly processes and regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation using CATIA V5.
• Design for Assembly, Design for Servicing and Design for Manufacturing.
• Knowledge of GD&T, CAE, CFD and Mold Flow analysis.
• Data management and benchmarking of interior components.
• Familiarity with packaging, ergonomics, colour and texture requirements.
