Senior Healthcare Support Worker

About the role

The Surgical Suite Day Case Unit is seeking a Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Band 3) to deliver high‑quality, efficient care across a range of day‑case specialties in a rural general hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support within the day‑case surgical suite, including recovery, endoscopy and elective procedures.
• Assist nursing staff in delivering safe, patient‑centred care and maintain high clinical standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth operation of the unit.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care pathways.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, motivated individual with a genuine interest in nursing care.
• Good team player with excellent communication skills.
• Experience in a ward‑care setting is desirable.
• Evidence of SCQF level 6 or equivalent training/experience (Band 2 or Band 3 HCSW).
