Senior Frontend Engineer (Contract)

About the role

Razorpay is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer on a contract basis to build robust frontend foundations and deliver high‑quality user experiences. You will collaborate with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to turn wireframes into responsive, production‑ready interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Direct AI agents through feature development, from scaffolding to unit and end‑to‑end testing.
• Architect clear technical specifications and prompt contexts for AI‑assisted development.
• Implement responsive UI components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, translating designs into functional code.
• Maintain and evolve React‑based frameworks and related libraries.
• Review agent‑generated code, enforce rigorous verification, and catch subtle implementation errors.
• Ensure code reliability through comprehensive testing and debugging.
• Make architectural decisions on file layout, type design, and library choices.
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate REST APIs and with product managers to clarify requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional frontend development experience.
• Strong proficiency with React (or comparable frameworks such as Angular or Vue.js).
• Comfort with modern AI development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex).
• Ability to decompose complex features into logical execution loops and intervene when needed.
• Good understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous data flows.
• Willingness to learn new technologies rapidly.
