Senior Executive - Horticulture

About the role

The Senior Executive – Horticulture is responsible for managing and enhancing the greenbelt and landscape areas of the power plant and its township. The role leads in‑house nursery operations, oversees horticulture equipment, and coordinates with various departments to meet the plant’s horticultural requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of greenbelt and landscape areas, including removal of wild growth and regular plant care.
• Manage lawns through grass cutting, watering, hedge and shrub trimming.
• Prune, mow, weed, and apply pesticide and herbicide sprays in landscape zones.
• Arrange plantation events and support other plant zones with horticulture needs.
• Ensure removal of unwanted vegetation in fire‑restricted areas and address related concerns.
• Conduct regular meetings with horticulture agencies to increase green zones per CPCB and State PCB norms.
• Coordinate with corporate affairs for contractor liaison on greenbelt development.
• Lead in‑house vermicompost production and optimize nursery growing conditions.
• Lead nursery staff, manage vendor coordination, and ensure compliance with horticultural standards.
• Maintain and repair horticulture equipment, issue diesel, and monitor equipment usage according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain water distribution and irrigation systems for plant care.

Required profile

• Proven experience in horticulture and landscape management within an industrial setting.
• Experience leading nursery operations and vermicompost production.
• Ability to coordinate with external agencies, contractors, and internal departments.
• Knowledge of CPCB and State PCB regulations related to greenbelt development.
• Hands‑on experience with horticulture equipment maintenance and diesel handling.
