Senior Electrical Engineer – Design & Control Panels

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and modify electrical assemblies, control panels, and cable harnesses for advanced semiconductor equipment. You will work in Bangalore, collaborating with global teams to deliver reliable hardware solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical control panels, cable and harnesses for AC modules, sensors, and temperature controllers.
• Create schematics, layouts, and detailed drawings, and prepare engineering specification documents.
• Coordinate procurement and assembly of components, identify critical parts, and resolve technical issues.
• Perform basic engineering analysis, generate test reports, and support product releases.
• Collaborate with North America groups, suppliers, and contract manufacturers on reliability testing and field issue analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• 5‑8 years of relevant experience in hardware design for capital equipment.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical information.

Required skills

• Design of electrical control panels and power source interfacing.
• Cable and harness design for AC modules and sensors.
• Analog and digital circuit design.
• Knowledge of IEC, ANSI, NEC, UL, CE, and semiconductor safety standards.
• Component obsolescence management, schematic generation, and layout review.
