Senior Director - Merchant Banking

About the role

A dual-role leadership position in the Merchant Banking unit of Amicorp Group in Mumbai. The ideal candidate is a "hunter-executor" hybrid who can independently originate high-value mandates while overseeing their execution, and who builds and trains the entire team.

Key responsibilities

• Originate new mandates across IPOs, rights issues, QIPs, open offers and buybacks, and meet annual fee income targets
• Lead end-to-end transaction execution, including due diligence, drafting offer documents (DRHP/RHP) and handling the regulatory interface with SEBI and stock exchanges
• Provide strategic financial advice on capital structuring and regulatory frameworks
• Build long-term relationships with C-suite executives, promoters and institutional investors
• Mentor and supervise junior associates and analysts
• Record chargeable time, monitor transaction monitoring, pricing, invoicing and collection of outstanding fees, and track weekly productivity and chargeability targets
• Act as director, trustee, nominee, manager, partner, secretary or authorized signatory in internal or client entities of the group when required

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA (Finance) from a premier institute, or CFA charterholder
• 10-13 years of core experience, with at least 5-7 years as a Category 1 Merchant Banker
• Proven track record of revenue generation and closed marquee transactions
• Deep knowledge of SEBI (ICDR) regulations, the Companies Act and the Takeover Code
• Ability to work in a smaller, dynamic local team within a larger matrix organization
