Senior DevOps Engineer – Platform Services

About the role

3M is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its Platform Services team in Bangalore. You will own and evolve the internal developer platform on Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) and ensure a secure, reliable, and developer‑friendly environment for application teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Build, operate, and enhance the internal developer platform on ROSA, including CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and environment automation.
• Implement end‑to‑end software supply‑chain security, covering image scanning, pipeline security gates, admission controls, and staged artifact promotion.
• Define and enforce platform policy as code for cluster workloads, provisioning, secret management, and access control at scale.
• Lead platform improvement initiatives, mentor team members, and collaborate with application, security, and cloud infrastructure teams.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging platform capabilities such as self‑service tooling, observability, automated certificate management, and supply‑chain integrity practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, verified before start date.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in DevOps and platform engineering.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift platforms.
• Proven hands‑on experience with Red Hat OpenShift.

Required skills

• Red Hat OpenShift and ROSA (cluster administration, RBAC, namespace lifecycle).
• Kubernetes networking concepts and CNI.
• CI/CD pipeline tools: Tekton, ArgoCD, Helm.
• GitOps workflows and policy‑as‑code implementation.
• Software supply‑chain security: SLSA, image signing, vulnerability scanning, deployment‑gate policies.
• Experience with AWS services supporting ROSA.
