Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Bluehost is scaling to tens of millions of customers and needs a senior DevOps engineer to keep the platform fast, safe, and reliable. You will own pipelines, cloud‑native infrastructure, and observability while modernising legacy pieces and leveraging AI tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Kubernetes and cloud‑native infrastructure across AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI.
• Own Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, version‑controlled in Git.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Argo (or comparable GitOps tools).
• Drive release and deployment management, including progressive rollouts and rollback strategies.
• Configure and harden web servers (Apache/Nginx) and SSL/TLS across environments.
• Implement observability, metrics, tracing, and log aggregation (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki) with actionable alerts.
• Apply AI across the delivery lifecycle and set guardrails for generated code.
• Own networking fundamentals, on‑call rotation, incident response, and post‑mortem improvements.

Required profile

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Deep hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud‑native patterns.
• Strong Terraform expertise and familiarity with Ansible or Puppet.
• Proven ability to build CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Argo, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancing) in cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki) and actionable alerting.
• Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting.
• Understanding of Linux security fundamentals (TLS, SSH hardening, IAM).
