About the role

Siemens Smart Infrastructure India is seeking a Senior Counsel – Commercial Law to join its Legal team in Navi Mumbai. You will act as a trusted business partner, providing strategic legal advice that supports the company’s commercial activities and growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Advise business unit management on strategic, commercial, and regulatory matters.
• Develop and implement governance frameworks to mitigate risks from new regulations or geopolitical changes.
• Support complex commercial projects, innovative business models, and software/service‑driven offerings.
• Manage litigation, dispute resolution, and investigations, providing strategic guidance throughout.

Required profile

• Fully qualified lawyer with strong academic credentials and an Indian legal background.
• 8+ years of post‑qualification experience in commercial law, gained in a leading law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with legal counsels and cross‑functional business stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills across management levels, geographies, and cultures.
• Deep expertise in business‑critical legal topics, strong business acumen, and high ethical standards.
• Analytical, results‑oriented mindset with a hands‑on approach.
• Interest in leveraging AI, standardisation, and harmonisation to optimise legal advice.
