Senior Controls Software Engineer – Model-Based Development

About the role

Bosch Global Software Technologies is seeking a Senior Controls Software Engineer to lead model‑based development of Battery Management System (BMS) software. You will work on MATLAB/Simulink models, generate production‑grade embedded code, and ensure rigorous verification and validation of control algorithms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain BMS control software models using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow.
• Perform automatic code generation with Embedded Coder and manage the full code‑to‑hardware workflow.
• Design and execute MIL, SIL, and PIL test strategies, including open‑loop and closed‑loop testing.
• Maintain requirements traceability using IBM DOORS and ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and automotive standards.
• Conduct static code and model analysis with Polyspace, Parasoft, and Simulink Check, and resolve identified issues.
• Create automation scripts in MATLAB/M‑Scripting and Python to improve test efficiency.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience in model‑based development for automotive or energy‑storage applications.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong understanding of BMS architecture, SOC/SOH estimation, battery balancing, and safety protections.
