Senior Conservation Architect (2-4 yrs experience)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Conservation Architect with 2‑4 years of experience to lead heritage projects at Somaya Sampat. The role combines design expertise with hands‑on coordination of interior, structural and MEP works, ensuring that conservation interventions respect both historic value and contemporary requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead conservation projects, coordinating interior design, structural engineering and MEP services.
• Oversee site execution, maintaining high standards of detail, quality and compliance.
• Prepare and review working drawings, detailing, and coordinate with consultants.
• Develop and enforce conservation specifications and documentation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognised institute.
• Master’s degree in Conservation (essential).
• 2‑4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong coordination and communication abilities in collaborative team environments.
• Extensive site exposure with hands‑on knowledge of working drawings and detailing.
• Familiarity with architectural conservation specifications and documentation.
• Experience with conservation of load‑bearing timber structures, adaptive reuse and expansion is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of international standards and systems is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Competence with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to use SketchUp.
