Senior Cloud Security Engineer

About the role

Skylo is building satellite‑to‑device connectivity infrastructure and needs a senior professional to own the security posture of its multi‑cloud environment. This foundational hire will shape the Platform Security pillar, creating controls, tooling, and processes from the ground up across AWS and GCP.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud security architecture across AWS or GCP (IAM, network segmentation, workload security, secrets management, encryption/KMS).
• Build and tune cloud security posture management (CSPM), workload protection, and cloud‑native detection capabilities.
• Partner with platform/DevOps engineering to embed security into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Own vulnerability management and hardening for cloud workloads, containers, and Kubernetes environments.
• Support incident response, forensics, and security assessments across cloud platforms.

Required profile

• 6+ years in security engineering with at least 3 years focused on cloud security (AWS and/or GCP).
• Strong hands‑on experience with IAM design, VPC/network security, container and Kubernetes security, and secrets/key management.
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code security (Terraform, OPA/Sentinel) and CSPM/CNAPP tools.

Required skills

• AWS, GCP, IAM, VPC, Kubernetes (EKS/GKE).
• Terraform, CloudFormation, OPA, Sentinel.
• CSPM tools such as Wiz, Prisma Cloud, Orca.
• Python, Bash or PowerShell scripting.
• Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK, and security frameworks.
