Senior Civil Design Engineer – Mining (Global Projects)

About the role

Join AECOM’s Global Projects team as a Senior Civil Design Engineer focused on mining infrastructure. You will lead the design of haul roads, access roads, and site infrastructure while ensuring safety, constructability, and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop civil design solutions for haul roads, access roads and mine or industrial site infrastructure.
• Undertake geometric design, grading and alignment development, balancing safety, constructability, operational needs and earthworks efficiency.
• Design heavy‑duty pavement solutions based on expected loading, ground conditions, materials and project requirements.
• Prepare bulk earthworks designs, cut‑and‑fill assessments, grading plans and quantities, coordinating geotechnical and slope requirements.
• Design surface water management and drainage systems, including open channels, detention or retention facilities, stormwater networks and culverts.
• Prepare and review calculations, models, drawings, design reports, specifications and technical inputs to estimates and scopes.
• Coordinate civil interfaces with structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, process and environmental disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, safety‑in‑design reviews, constructability reviews and technical risk assessments.

Required profile

• Provides guidance to entry‑level engineers and works with little supervision.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed budget and schedule, delivering primary design elements independently.
