Senior C# WPF Software Engineer (5-8 yrs experience)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 5‑8 years of experience in C# and .NET development to work on graphical user interfaces for semiconductor equipment. The position is based onsite in Bangalore and involves the full software lifecycle from requirements to launch.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain GUI and underlying frameworks for new and existing products.
• Perform analysis, design, and implementation of assigned projects following engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with global teams to translate customer requirements into software specifications.
• Troubleshoot complex software issues and provide timely status updates to stakeholders.
• Document software changes and support ongoing product enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5‑8 years of product software development experience, focusing on UI development for Windows desktop applications.
• Ability to quickly acquire deep domain knowledge of industrial automation equipment.

Required skills

• Strong C# and .NET programming (WinForms, WPF, Collections, Component Model, threading).
• Object‑oriented design and common design patterns.
• Fundamental CS concepts: data structures, algorithms, basic OS concepts.
• Version control using Git.
• Experience with AI‑assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot (good to have).
