Senior Buyer – Procurement Operations

About the role

Buying Simplified is looking for a Senior Buyer to own end‑to‑end procurement for one or two US client accounts. You will work directly with engineering, R&D, lab operations, IT, facilities and marketing teams to turn demand into sourced, negotiated, compliant purchases.

Key responsibilities

• Run full sourcing cycles (RFI, RFQ, RFP) from requirement gathering to supplier award.
• Build and maintain supplier shortlists in new and unfamiliar categories.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, SLAs and other commercial terms.
• Own the requisition‑to‑PO process: review, clarify, source, convert, dispatch and expedite orders.
• Manage open PO books, including acknowledgements, changes, delivery follow‑up and invoice exceptions.

Required profile

• 5–9 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or purchasing operations.
• Proven ability to quickly learn new categories, identify suitable suppliers and deliver better outcomes than clients could achieve on their own.
• Self‑starter who thrives on ownership rather than a queue of tickets.
