Senior Associate – Direct Tax

About the role

BDO India is seeking a motivated Senior Associate to join its Direct Tax team in Gurugram. The role offers exposure to corporate and non‑corporate tax compliance, advisory and transfer pricing projects for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the team manager and articled assistants to deliver tax assignments.
• Prepare and vet income tax returns for corporate and non‑corporate assessees.
• Apply provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961 and relevant Double Taxation Avoidance Treaties.
• Prepare Form 15CA/CB and provide advice on domestic, international taxation and transfer‑pricing matters.
• Draft submissions for assessment, transfer‑pricing and compliance notices and represent the firm before assessing officers and other authorities.
• Ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines and budgets.

Required profile

• CA qualification.
• 1–3 years of experience in direct tax, preferably in a professional services environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
• Understanding of Double Taxation Avoidance Treaties.
• Experience preparing Form 15CA/CB.
• Transfer‑pricing fundamentals and advisory.
