Senior Associate - Data Governance & Data Catalog

About the role

PwC India is looking for a Senior Associate in its Advisory practice, within the Data, Analytics & AI line of service, to act as a Data Governance Consultant in Kolkata. The role is technical and focuses on designing, configuring and implementing Data Governance, Data Catalog and Data Quality solutions using market-leading tools to support enterprise data governance, data quality and data catalog processes.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure and deploy data governance solutions on the DG platform tailored to complex enterprise requirements.
• Configure data domains, org units, business glossaries, workflows, data classification, technical and semantic lineage to enforce governance frameworks and policies.
• Customize DG integrations with enterprise systems via APIs, connectors and data integration tools.
• Perform data profiling, data quality validations and build data quality rules and scorecards.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimize DG workflows and integrations for accuracy, consistency and efficiency.
• Onboard data sources into DG and DQ platforms, including ETL/ELT pipeline setup and metadata ingestion.

Required profile

• 3 to 8 years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree (BE, B.Tech, MCA, MBA, M.Tech).
• Hands-on experience configuring and implementing Data Governance and Data Catalog features such as domains, lineage, workflows and data quality rules.
• Experience integrating DG tools with enterprise data sources and external systems using APIs, web services or ETL tools.

Required skills

• Proficiency in data profiling, data quality validations and metadata ingestion.
• Hands-on experience with DG/DQ tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation or Purview.
• Preferred: professional certification in Informatica, Collibra, Alation, Purview or Talend.
• Preferred: SQL, Python, ETL tools (Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Informatica, Talend) and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
