Senior Associate – Canada Personal Tax (T1)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Associate specialized in Canadian personal income tax (T1) to join our team in a hybrid setup across Bangalore, Hyderabad or Kolkata. The role involves preparing and reviewing individual tax returns for Canadian clients, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare complete T1 personal income tax returns, including all major schedules, slips, deductions and credits.
• Conduct thorough reviews of T1 returns prepared by junior staff, providing feedback and ensuring quality standards.
• Communicate with on‑shore Canadian clients and internal teams to resolve queries and clarify tax positions.
• Handle complex cases such as self‑employed income, cross‑border situations, investment and rental income, and foreign reporting (NR4, T3, etc.).
• Utilize tax software platforms such as Profile, TaxPrep and CCH iFirm to process and review returns.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in Canadian personal income tax (T1) preparation and review.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing tax files is mandatory.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Prior exposure to KPO/BPO, Big‑4, mid‑tier CA firms or specialized Canadian tax processing is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong command of T1 preparation and review, including schedules, slips (T4, T5, T3, NR4) and credits.
• Good understanding of provincial tax variations (Ontario, BC, Alberta, etc.).
• Proficiency with tax software: Profile, TaxPrep, CCH iFirm.
• Ability to manage complex individual returns and basic tax planning concepts.
