Senior Android Software Engineer

About the role

The Senior Android Software Engineer will design, build and operate ISA’s native Android application, delivering features for guests and internal users across reservation, flight operations and cargo. The role combines hands‑on development with technical leadership, code quality advocacy and mentorship of junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate the native Android application, delivering end‑to‑end features from UI to API integration.
• Own non‑functional aspects such as performance, security, reliability and drive technical design discussions.
• Champion clean code, test‑first practices, maintain CI/CD pipelines and address technical debt.
• Mentor associate and software engineers on Android architecture and mobile craftsmanship.
• Ensure observability, participate in on‑call rotation and collaborate with product, design and operations teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and fluency in English.
• 6‑8 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong record of native Android delivery.
• Experience in travel, airline or transactional e‑commerce platforms is a plus.

Required skills

• Kotlin and Java development on Android.
• Android SDK, Jetpack components (Compose, Coroutines, Architecture Components).
• REST and GraphQL API integration, offline‑first data handling with Room/SQLite.
• Testing frameworks for unit, instrumentation, UI and end‑to‑end tests.
• Mobile observability tools such as Firebase Crashlytics or Datadog.
• CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, Google Play release management.
• Secure coding practices and OWASP Mobile guidelines.
