Senior Analyst, Direct Tax

About the role

As a Senior Analyst, Direct Tax you will lead all direct tax activities for Mondelēz India, ensuring compliance with Indian tax laws, managing audit defence, and providing strategic tax advice. You will act as the primary point of contact for direct tax matters, collaborating with business, finance, and global tax teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end direct tax compliance, including corporate income tax returns, advance tax, TDS/TCS filings and foreign remittance documentation.
• Manage tax assessments and litigation, preparing responses to notices and supporting appeals before CIT(A), ITAT and High Courts.
• Oversee transfer pricing documentation, benchmarking studies and Form 3CEB filings.
• Monitor changes in Indian tax legislation and provide proactive advisory to business units.
• Support tax accounting and reporting, including quarterly and annual provisions, deferred tax calculations and effective tax rate analysis.
• Develop and improve tax compliance processes, leveraging technology and digital tools.
• Maintain relationships with external advisors and contribute to a high‑performing tax team.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in Indian direct tax compliance and audit defence.
• Strong knowledge of transfer pricing regulations and tax accounting standards (ASC 740 / Ind AS 12).
• Proven ability to interpret tax legislation, CBDT circulars and judicial precedents.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
